Exact counts exclude identifiers that also occur in other displayed sets.

Add datasets to begin

Paste lists on the left, import files, or open the educational synthetic example.

Exact vs inclusive

Know what the count means.

Exact A ∩ B excludes identifiers also present in other sets. Inclusive A ∩ B includes them.

Venn vs UpSet

Use the right representation.

Venn is recommended for two or three sets. For larger comparisons, UpSet is usually clearer and does not force complex circle geometry.

Reproducible export

Verification without uploading data.

For verified exports, the final file is hashed locally. Only the hash and export metadata are registered; raw identifiers remain on your device.

Import data

Preview files before adding datasets

Supported in v0.16: TXT, CSV, TSV and LIST. Multiple files can be previewed together. Choose which column contains identifiers; optional label, value and reference columns are retained as local import metadata for future quantitative workflows but are not used by set-overlap calculations. Excel/XLSX import is planned for a later quantitative-import release; for this beta, export an Excel worksheet as CSV or TSV first.

Map IDs with source provenance

Explicit online action

Standard VennScope analysis remains browser-local. Mapping starts only when you press Run mapping. The selected identifiers are then sent directly from your browser to the named public database service. VennScope does not silently change the original dataset.

The original dataset is preserved. One-to-many mappings are retained and reported.

Figure attribution

CC BY 4.0 for VennScope-owned visual elements

You may use and adapt VennScope-generated figures in publications, presentations, teaching and other work. Where VennScope contributes copyrightable visual elements, those VennScope-owned elements are offered under CC BY 4.0 with attribution. Your data remain yours; this does not make the VennScope software open source.

Export & scientific integrity

VennScope cannot authenticate changes made outside the application. A verified export record can establish whether an exact file matches a file registered by VennScope at export time; it does not certify the scientific interpretation or the identity of the person exporting it.
