Core set analysis stays in your browser.

VennScope is designed so that ordinary list parsing, set calculations, intersection inspection, statistics and figure rendering do not require uploading your scientific datasets to VennScope.

Standard analysis

Dataset contents entered or selected in the application are processed in the browser for standard analysis. No account is required.

Online identifier mapping is separate

Online mapping never starts automatically. When you explicitly run a supported online mapping route, VennScope identifies the external service and asks for confirmation before the selected identifiers are transmitted directly from the browser. Other datasets, the current figure and project file are not included in that mapping request.

Local/offline identifier mapping

A user-provided mapping table can be processed locally in the browser without an online mapping request. The original dataset is preserved and mapped results are created as a separate derived dataset when requested.

Project and export files

Project files, mapping CSVs and exported figures are downloaded to locations controlled by your browser/device. VennScope does not claim ownership of user-supplied datasets.

PWA and offline storage

The service worker can cache VennScope application assets so the installed web app can load when offline. The application shell cache is not intended as storage for user datasets or generated figure files.

Optional export verification

If export registration/verification is available and explicitly selected, the exported file is hashed locally. The verification workflow is designed to register or query a SHA-256 fingerprint plus limited technical export metadata rather than upload the scientific dataset or figure file itself. Availability can vary during beta testing.

External services

External database and hosting providers may process connection information according to their own policies. Do not use online mapping for confidential identifiers unless you are permitted to submit them to the selected external service.

Feedback

The Community page prepares feedback text for you and can open Ronald Saraswat's external contact form. Do not include confidential datasets in feedback unless you intentionally choose to disclose them.
