VennScope is a browser-based application for comparing identifier sets, inspecting intersections, exploring similarity and overlap statistics, mapping identifiers explicitly and preparing publication-oriented Venn and UpSet figures.
Features and supported workflows are being tested with real research use cases. Important results should be independently checked before publication or other consequential use.

VennScope is particularly useful for comparing gene, transcript, protein and other identifier lists derived from genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, screening and related workflows, while remaining general enough for non-biological set comparisons.
What it does
- Compares 2–20 sets using exact and inclusive membership definitions.
- Uses Venn diagrams for small comparisons and UpSet for larger ones.
- Provides element inspection, pairwise similarity and optional overlap statistics when an appropriate universe is supplied.
- Supports explicit online or local/offline identifier mapping while preserving original datasets and mapping provenance.
- Provides publication-oriented figure editing and export packages.
Privacy model
Standard parsing, set comparison, statistics, figure rendering and local/offline mapping occur in the browser. Online identifier mapping is separate and explicit: VennScope identifies the external service and asks for confirmation before selected identifiers are transmitted.
Creator & project
VennScope is an independently developed scientific software project created by Ronald Saraswat, PhD, a cell and molecular biologist with experience in quantitative biological research and scientific data analysis, and is presented through Saraswat Integrated Services Private Limited.
The project grew from a practical research need: a clear, current workflow for comparing overlapping datasets, inspecting the underlying identifiers and preparing figures without unnecessary complexity.
